Press Release: FestUSA
RumFestUSA™ to Kick-Off ‘05 in San Diego: Friday, March 4, from 6:30-9PM

The Prado in Balboa Park to Host Remarkable Rum Celebration

For the first time ever, rum and rhum manufacturers from all over the world will gather in San Diego to introduce, educate and build awareness for their premium crafted spirits amongst the city’s most talented bartenders, food & beverage managers, trendsetters and aficionados alike.

Tahitian Import Export brings their Bounty Rum to shore, along with their newest import Noa Noa Brun & Blanc Rums that each display classic sweet nuances and vanilla highlights not always found in other rums. From the US comes Prichard’s Fine Rum, handcrafted from cane grown in Louisiana and distilled with crystal clear Tennessee spring water, making this rum decidedly smooth and tasteful in character. Treat yourselves to a tasting of the only rum in the International Rum Festival Hall of Fame, Ron Zacapa 23 anos, among the highest rated rums in the world (98/100 Beverage Testing Institute). And, we anticipate the first drop of the Ron Botran family of rums, especially the much touted Botran Solera. Come savor the flavor of these and many more fine cane spirits at RumFestUSA™ in San Diego’s Balboa Park on March 4th, 2005.

Want more? Test your “spiritual” knowledge while hearing tales of ‘kill devil’ with Rum Expert Ed Hamilton, Minister of Rums. Mr. Hamilton lives on his sailboat, Triton, off of the Island of Culebra near Puerto Rico and visits the distilleries regularly (when he’s not rumming with us, that is!). After years of frustration and having his friends drink all his French West Indies rhum, Ed began working with Caribbean Spirits to import some of his favorite rhums from Martinique and Guadeloupe. You may sample Rhum Niesson & La Favorite, which compare favorable with the most luxurious cognacs and armagnacs in the world.

See for yourself why Debra Argen of Luxury Web Magazine described RumFestUSA™ as “the international show of rum”.

Place your bid on a variety of cane spirits and other items at our Silent Auction, benefiting 100% to the Sky Ranch Foundation. The adopted charity of the alcohol beverage industry since 1960, Sky Ranch has given thousands of troubled teens a second chance to become responsible citizens.

The Bristol Hotel is making special pricing accommodations for those attending RumFestUSA™. Please contact The Bristol Hotel at 1-800-662-4477 and mention FestUSA when making reservations.

Goody Bags will be filled with assorted mini’s, a new fragrance reminiscent of balmy Caribbean nights and other items.
